Elon Musk returned to the White House on Tuesday for the first time since his public split with Donald Trump, in a sign of a improving relations between the US president and the world’s richest man.
The Tesla boss’s attendance at a candlelit dinner hosted by Trump for the visiting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman comes just months after Musk called for the president to be impeached and suggested he was embroiled in the scandal surrounding the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Musk’s appearance is the clearest public sign yet of a thaw in his relationship with Trump. The former allies have spoken briefly on the phone since their falling out, and had a short in-person conversation in September at the funeral of activist Charlie Kirk.
