Police have launched an investigation into alleged false statements and fraud at Citic Pacific, the Hong Kong arm of China's largest conglomerate.
In a statement last night, the group confirmed that the Hong Kong police force's commercial crime bureau had raided its headquarters.
The company had earlier suspended its shares pending a potentially price-sensitive announcement, and television stations broadcast footage of police removing documents.
