A Syria-based Isis leader with links to one of the miltants involved in last month’s Paris attacks has been killed in a US-led airstrike, a spokesman for the international coalition fighting the Islamist group said on Tuesday.
The dead man was named as Charaffe al-Mouadan, who the US said was linked to Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the alleged leader of the Paris attack cell.
Mouadan was killed on December 24 and had been planning attacks against the west, said Colonel Steve Warren, a spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve, the US military operation against Isis. He was among 10 Isis leaders killed in airstrikes over the past month.
